He Is Making Everything Beautiful In Its Time - A Word of Encouragement for the Close of 2019
As I was spending time with the Lord today I was reminded of a picture I drew for my father when I was a young child. I was drawing with a group of children who were addressing their pictures to others. Although I hadn’t yet learned to read, I did know how to spell my name. I thought I might like to copy what the others were doing. It resulted in me writing the words Ot Sarah on the page and was promptly given to my Dad. He put my drawing of a rose, incorrectly addressed and spelled, up in his office.
That picture remained on display for a number of years and long enough for me to understand the errors I had made. I realised that To Dad was the correct way to spell and address my gift to him.
I sense that there are some today who feel as though what they produced for the Father this year, in 2019, didn’t have the original, desired outcome. Perhaps things didn’t go exactly the way you planned and the end picture has resulted in things just not coming together the way you thought they would.
Be encouraged!
The Father has taken the offering you gave Him, even in its imperfections, and has placed it on His “wall” celebrating all you’ve done. He isn’t berating or criticising you but is so proud that you gave it your best shot and believed and acted the best way you knew how to.
I sense, in time, as you learn and grow and mature, you will see where you could have done things differently or perhaps even better and it will all make sense.
This is His promise to you in this season. “Don’t be discouraged, my child. Even in the errors of the year, the picture of your life that you have drawn is sweet and beautiful to me. You are not an embarrassment to me nor am I ashamed of your mistakes. I am proud to display who you are and all you do. I celebrate you. And even more so, I am faithful to teach you in my ways. And as you walk along my paths things will become clear as I beautify and bring clarity to every error. Nothing is wasted with me. You are my prized and treasured possession.”
He then reminded me of a song I used to sing as a child:
Beautiful, beautiful, Jesus is beautiful,
And Jesus makes beautiful things of my life,
Carefully touches me, causing my eyes to see,/
That Jesus make beautiful things of my life.
I heard the encouragement of Jesus, “There’s no such thing as loss in the Kingdom and I make everything beautiful in its time (Ecc. 3:11). As you partner with me and put pen to paper, so to speak, I will teach you how to draw my designs for your life. You will begin to see the threads of my wisdom and grace throughout your life as we walk and build together into the years to come.”
Isaiah 61:3 “… to give them a crown of beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, and a garment of praise in place of a spirit of despair. So they will be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.”
